White hair

In front of the mirror, a bright white hair shines on my face. A white beard hair! Wooo! I’m getting older. I rub my face, wondering when it happened. Maybe it’s been there for months. Maybe it’s new. Time hides in plain sight like that. A short reflection follows: I guess the years go by for me too. And I like that. I’m 30, and I get reminded of it almost every day now. Body aches. Back hurts. Energy rises and falls.

It’s hard to admit and realize that the body keeps the score. Some days are just harder than others, and that’s fine. I’m learning to make peace with it.

Why fight it? Why go against it? Let's understand and support the body instead. If it screams for help, then help is what it’ll get. Exercise and rest matter more with age — and patience is what binds them together.

Going slower might be good. Experience less. Enjoy more.
