11/5/2025 BRIDGIN' LIGHT
Down the wooden bridge
crowded in darkness, blurred in motion
pedals in circles follow the line
Bright and straight meets the sky
a beacon up high.

Watery drops, sweat fading to tears
carried deep while sitting up here
shadows and highlights
watery eyes
riding the saddle into city lights.

11/4/2025
Two stories tell one event
clear glass divides two lives.

Alone, on a bar stool,
sits the satisfied soul.
At the picnic table
gather the loud bodies.

Deep is ocean water.
Shallow is pond water.

Like a group of friends screaming in excitement,
the pond hides its content.
A pond is avoided, like a pothole in the street.

The ocean is loved.
The ocean is lived.
The ocean is sailed.
The ocean is respected.

What appears as less
can surely be more.

11/4/2025 DISCOVERY
Unknown place, new emotion.
fills the gap between stillness and action..
Shivering spine of the fish.
exploring the ocean the first time..
.
Scaring and warming.
dark and bright.
colors and sounds mix in delight.
another spin, another sky..
.
Stars and planets magically align.
answer standing in plain sight.

11/2/2025 WORN OUT PANTS
holes and grime the story tell
hard work and scars of a life well lived
sweat and tears to make it work
grease and gears shifting the clock

is it the dirt that doesn't wash off
sign of a tool that loved once was?
hard to let go
wear it one more
last night out for a stroll.

11/1/2025
writing inspiration comes from observation
sounds, smells, actions and words
printed on paper
played on guitar
from poems and prose songs are born
speaking out loud emotions in bold.

10/31/2025 DAWN
wet grass, tiny teardrops in the air
what is this smell coming from there?
birds chirping loudly awake
chefs baking croissants for clients pray.

dogs are walking, tall tail swings
that scent of coffee slowly drips
grass is dry now that high
light the sky with neon signs.

10/31/2025 ICE CREAM TRUCK
do you hear that sound
the closer it gets, the song gets loud.

lining with cheers are the kids homebound
yay, wooo, they all go
can I get a cone with cookie dough?

sweeter and excited the line thins out
the truck moves on
the song fades out.

10/31/2025 PORTABLE TYPEWRITER
traveling writer this tool makes me
light and slick in the luggage fits
i can type where the bike wants
far away is where I belong?

such a cool little tool
to bring with me when I'm fool
well, you know, cheers to writing
and everything it's so inviting.

10/31/2025 KEEP GOING
like a delivery man everyday drops the mail
like the sun comes up in the sky
like the ringing bell of the class to start
like the sound of the alarm.

don't give up.
trust your gut.

success is far
maybe not too much.

10/29/2025 LAPTOP
steady light sits in front
it watches me hours long.
what I tell fast executes
mistakes? quickly now hit return.
delete memories erase the lesson
afraid of doing wrong
learning won't

bright light points at me
sunny skies I cannot see
sucking power to stay alive
keep me lazy seems alright.

10/29/2025 MUSIC BOX
listen to that singing sphere
it goes around and round and round
paints the room calming sound
from the child removes dark fear

slowly tuning on itself
lullaby on the pillow falls
melody swings blanket on a toddler
the sounds go on of the carillon.

10/29/2025 COLD MORNING
lights comes through eyebrows gate
ice melts with heavy down
feel that brrr whispers your spine
mmm, yes it's winter time.

10/28/2025 TINNITUS
it's a wave that break does not
up and down on the plane
surfing i am not, tumbling i got.
a kid on a pony ride, with tears and a long sad smile
what is that, do you hear it?
shhh. quiet.
i hear the ghosts of a deaf halloween.

10/28/2025 THE SMELL OF FRESH RAIN
deep in the nostrils is just landed
from a faraway planet a soft drip.
I cannot remember that feel of freshness
been walking deserts away relentless.

the loud booms of a shower
softly caressing the flowers
is been a while I felt alive
fresh and reborn from the smell of fresh rain.

10/28/2025
look at him like a steamy bread loaf
love crumbles at the door at 6pm.
scared of flying on them wheels, on sidewalks I'd rather be
i will listen but speak i don't
my ears are open for you to talk.

10/28/2025
not a loud cheering day
but a moment to reflect
candle lit on one baked good
me and the wind to blow it out
lonely yes but filled my soul
from the love of time well lived
i don't need the noisy crowd
a smokey chimney and a blanket on top.

10/28/2025
the caring love of a folded shirt
the polished smell of soapy silk
looks clean and tidy yes
when unfold the eyes are told
it's okay to be cold
open your arms and hug me loud
we'll fold together and tuck inside.

10/28/2025
what is that color that touches hearts
what is the color that car makes fast
careful though cause danger calls
look ahead it's stopping them

What's that color
think it through
is it yellow, black, or blue?

in the sky you won't find
unless the sun is setting by
is it green, purple, or brown?

it's a name of a young girl
it's a verb that happened had
let me tell you my dear friend,
RED is the color and this is the end.

10/27/2025 A coin dropped in the deepest well
A loud thin sound, slowly reaches the ear.
Ding.
What is an instant feels like hours. The breath is taken away
the eyes are wide open
the heart has stopped.

All of it for a quarter. A quarter that in that moment feels like all you got.
a quarter that feels heavy in your hand.
the black, deep, well is all is left.

10/27/2025 The last seat on the bus
lined up on that old bench
seats the commuter away from the ranch
lights get closer, right direction
standing is now the commuter.

take the step, walk inside
scan the seats far away.
all i see all the heads
my hope is lost legs in distress.

Oh but there in the corner
a last chance awaits for me
hope is thin and never lost.

10/27/2025 Keys that don't open anything anymore
deep in the drawer sits a lonely key
not married and not engaged
forgotten and not replaced.

will it turn the knob or not?
will it let me cross the wall?
or will I walk and take the fall?

Lonely is the key that no door opens anymore.

10/26/2025 A traffic light having an existential crisis
colorblind so stop or go
what am i green or red?
if i say stop then they must go
on that side or crash they'll do.
maybe yellow I'll flash tonight
so that drivers slowly drive.

10/26/2025 A library after closing time
soft the lights, dark the shelves
gently rest the paperback.
letters dance free and drunk
between the hard cover and the bookmark.
no flips, no chapter read
sleepy is the book tonight.

10/26/2025 Two socks that got separated in the laundry
jumped in the ocean and took a plunge
in that storm rinsing hard.
with my buddy i am having fun
twirling round soapy bath.
oh but lost now i am
where is my partner, can't see ahead.
now i am lonely and depressed
dumped in the bin no feet again.

10/26/2025 A typewriter jealous of a laptop
wait for me sprinty
boy i am old but not a toy.
back and forth shiny roll
your fancy button silently move.
i am a noisy elder lady
no backlight or luxury erase
my heart and soul sings through my bell.

10/25/2025 TYPEWRITER
woke up old lost but fool
plenty buttons on the table
thinking must the old writer
after typing no eraser.

10/25/2025 AUTUMN
not the leaves, not the colors
mist and fog move the weeks
from the hot dry air
to the cold and cloudy sky.

10/25/2025 PRESSING INK
on a cold misty day
sits the joyful curious writer
thoughts are pressed onto paper
with tools unknown to most
so cool that got lost
eaten by the immediate need
of a pre-made meal already cooked.

10/25/2025 BUCKSKIN GULCH
stepping through the canyon on sandy bottom
was a group of loose companions.
as daylight faded,
all bonded in a bagel.
not quicksand, not mice
could stop the group from counting miles.

Sharing rides, missing flights,
it's the smile of a good time.
muddy and wet hugged last day
cheers to the loving bagel brigade.

10/25/2025 COW
In a green lovely house, lives a chunky loud Cow.
His round tree house is where he screens the lively town.
When he sleeps he's hardly found, be sure to look around.
If his belly empty is, rest assured you'll hear the meaow
resonating all around

On the table he likes to sit, please for me save some meat.
A soda can between his teeth, time to rest around your hip.
Purring and stretching belly-up, petting me don't give up.

Hey stay here right by my side,
cozy filling this heart of mine.

10/25/2025 PATCHES
Four legged ghost or floating cloud?
He sleeps and dreams under the warm spotlight of the bright sun.
When on the round vinyl rug he places his tag, not any sound can wake him up.
But when his mom turns the knob,
here I am, a treat I want.

I miss your legs, your couch and pets, but in my soul your voice reflects
the bright happy love you brought to a shy scaredy cat.
Not a ghost, not a cloud, I'm still with you and never alone
just look up in the dark sky, free from gravity I light the night.

10/24/2025 CATERPILLARS
two antennas gently sweep the ground
fading between leaves
not observed quietly graze the soil below.

10/24/2025 PAPER CLIPS
hold it, clamp it, keep it tidy
i collect ideas and thoughts
lightweight but strong, always ready
paper is my friend we get along together.

10/24/2025 SOLITUDE
long and fading are closed ones
full is the basket of memories
seeing but not touching
hearing but not smelling
in front is a mirror of an obscure light.

10/22/2025 The sound of a refrigerator at night
buzzing is the cold air
through the pillow of the resting worker
sneaky as a thief the stillness is robbed
by the buzzing of cold air.

10/22/2025 A single shoe left on the side of the road
one shoe is all is left
of the soul that nothing owns
noticed or not survival is the call
to live a life with no choice
barefoot feet is all that's left
to walk and stand for what is worth.

10/22/2025 The last light before the storm
sailing gently on still water
whistling and enjoying that peaceful time
look ahead land no more
sparkling water, darkness blanket
wet, cold, bracing for movement.

10/21/2025 WAITING ROOM
bright light fills the air
echoes loudly shake the walls
lonely and tense is the seat
of the anxious patient.

9/24/2024 CANVAS
open road straight ahead
wind blowing, clouds flying
left or right, which path to choose
all I know is keep on move.

be the unknown, take the turn
and you'll end up in some place cool
open road straight ahead
paint it blue or paint it red.

10/17/2025 COINS
metal echoes in empty pockets
sailing the sea, climbing the sky
pressed on silver.

9/23/2024 HORIZONS
touching I can't, that line afar
hiding between the clouds and waves
how can i reach that line afar
dream big, don't be scared.

9/23/2024 PENCIL SHARPENER
the more we meet
the shorter you become
residue on my hands
a shiny head is what you get.

9/19/2024 FOUNTAIN PEN
chunky and sharp it flows on paper
gentle flow fills the page
cloudy sky, deep writing.

9/19/2024 DARK BEGINNINGS
smooth rays stain the view
of a silent rise.
wheels spinning, legs resting.
every movement is a loud bang
breaking the peaceful noise
of a dark beginning.

9/19/2024 PATCHES
snow just landed on warm skin
melting softly, fills the heart.
like ice in water level rises,
love, joy and no surprises.
