Restoring my vintage road bike
One day, driven by curiosity, I ventured into my garage and stripped my old road bicycle down to its frame and fork. This simple act of boredom evolved into a journey of restoration. With my collection of parts in hand, I discovered Bikerowave, a volunteer-run co-op that opens its doors each evening. This mechanical sanctuary offers eight bike stands, comprehensive tools, abundant used parts, and passionate volunteers eager to share their knowledge whether you're fixing a flat tire or undertaking a complete restoration.
After several evening sessions, my bike is back on the road. Riding it again brings me back to September 13, 2016, when I first purchased it in Boston. The joy of returning to the saddle is beyond words.
